Rochester: Emergency Call to Action to Prevent Eviction at the Steidel Home

Occupy Rochester & Take Back the Land – Rochester are doing an emergency eviction defense at the home of Maria and Harold Steidel:

After a preliminary victory against Freddie Mac and Wells Fargo last Novemeber, Maria and Harold Steidel are once again being threatened with eviction. Our earlier support for the Steidels brought national attention including coverage by both Rachel Maddow and Keith Olbermann.

There is an eviction enforcement date of Wednesday, July 11. While their lawyer is currently working on legal strategies which may delay or prevent an eviction, we will gather to either arrange a watch/blockade, or celebrate and further strategize if the legal efforts prove successful.

Please join us on Tuesday evening, July 10 at 5:30 at their home at 107 Clay Rd. An eviction watch/blockade may involve setting up an encampment, so if you have a tent to volunteer, please bring it. If an eviction watch is necessary, we will need as many people as possible during the most vulnerable hours of 9am to 5 pm each day until the eviction has been abandoned.
